The Digital Technologies curriculum is the development of knowledge, understanding and skills that support the integration of human thinking with the capabilities of digital systems (ACARA, 2014).
By the end of year 2, students should have began to experiment with different forms of representation with projects. The resource focuses on the content descriptor; Digital Technologies Processes and Production Skills;
The resource is a “Scoop It!” page, which is a curated collection of information, resources and tips that will be available to assist fellow teachers in the classroom. This resource will aid teachers to implement the aforementioned Digital Technologies content descriptor combined with a range of general capabilities and cross curricular opportunities to a year 1 or 2 level, differentiation and classroom examples.
Scoop It! is a free resource allowing teachers to quickly browse through a vast number of resources, information and tips to use in the classroom. They can also add/evaluate insights to the resources and share with others. This resource features an accessible collection of up-to-date online resources including an abundance of different applications, information and programs that teachers and pre-service teachers can utilise when planning.
With new information and resources being developed at a rapid pace, it’s important for teachers to be able to source quality information & resources relevant to the Australian Curriculum: Technologies without having to spend unnecessary time searching for them. Therefore, information has been categorised, with an opinion formed on the quality and relevance of these materials based on my growing knowledge of the field, and includes the most relevant materials to attach to my resource. I have also published my chosen resources with an annotation establishing the relevance of the resource, how to use it in a classroom, including how to facilitate differentiation.
